The 1800-HT/UHT multi-spindle disk finishing system is an enhanced throughput version of the EDCB 1800-CP/UHT system. The 1800-HT/UHT incorporate a high-speed motorized servo controlled turret with a high capacity handler. A key feature of the disk handling system is a cassette management system that has unique capability to load and unload substrates from two cassettes at the same time eliminating cassette to cassette “dead-time”. The 1800-HT/UHT is well suited for texturing both Aluminum and Glass substrates. It can also be used for post carbon processing. The machine is configured with two independently controlled magazines with process spindles for each magazine that also have independent oscillation and frequency control. Each magazine has fluid valve components for controlling slurry to the disk / roller interface. The system features a dedicated rinse spindle for enhanced disk rinsing between first and second step processes. User intuitive menu driven software allows for rapid adjustments to the machine by simply typing in the desired value. This feature makes this system very easy to perform large-scale experiments. All of the critical machine outputs, load roller force, tape speed and tension, spindle oscillation frequency and rotation are fully instrumented. Sensor output is continuously fed back to the system computer. This closed loop feedback system allows for uniform processing from disk to disk. The feedback can be viewed on a screen so that you can see the machine’s performance in real time. The exclusive spindle oscillation feature allows for higher frequencies. The result of these features produces a uniform surface finish on both surfaces of the disk.
